Abstract

The present article analyzes the notion of games and textual games in the work O Jogo da Amarelinha (originally Rayuela), by Julio Cortázar. For the effectiveness of this analysis, theoretical references were used, as well as studies by Johan Huizinga, Roger Caillois and Wolfgang Iser, highlighting the four game categories- agôn, alea, mimicry e ilinx- introduced by Callois and readjusted to the literary text, under the point of view of the textual games by Iser. From these theoretical concepts that have shown questions pertaining to the game in general and especially to the textual games, considering that this is an application study, it will point out how these four game categories manifest themselves in the literary text by the Argentine writer in textual games.
