Teaching English to young learners: an exploratory work

This paper relates experiences in teaching English to young learners and it makes some considerations about motivation in the English teaching and learning process. It was evidenced that the English teacher needs to be proficient, know and respect the children’s characteristics. The teacher’s formation and the problems related to the language teaching in our country will also be discussed in this paper. We hope, with this study, to contribute with the researches about teaching foreign language to young learners and to point the necessity of more researches about the use of textbooks and evaluation in the English classes for children.Downloads
